Holmfirth's champion runner, Carol Haigh (nee Greenwood) set the still standing ladies record of 19:38 in 1987. Her incredible time on the 'Pike' has been 'unchallenged' in the near quarter of a century since, to go with her amazing record at Snowdon (72 mins) and many other records.
